Whole Foods is very good at what they do; everything looks lovely, the array of different veg, meat, fish, wine and cheese is bewilderingly large, and the staff are helpful, knowledgable and seem to be genuinely happy. 
However the nickname "Whole Paycheck" is pretty accurate, whether it's the bison steaks at $25 per pound, or the wild morelles from Oregon - a snip at $90 a pound - it's tough to get out of the shop without spending a small fortune.
